Big Bike Revival in England

Big Bike Revival in England is now in its sixth year
The Big Bike Revival in England helps people to begin or return to cycling with a programme of free events that fix bikes, teach skills and offer led rides. By encouraging people to take part in fun and inclusive events, we want to show how cycling can be a practical, everyday activity.

Announcement - Coronavirus update

As the national cycling charity, Cycling UK continues to support people to cycle. This remains true during this difficult period with the ongoing threat of coronavirus.

We take the safety and welfare of our staff, volunteers, participants at our events, beneficiaries of our programmes and the general public extremely seriously.

Sadly we have taken the decision to cancel all group rides. This means we have unfortunately had to postpone all planned Big Bike Revival events.

We are closely monitoring the advice from the Government and the NHS and it remains our intention to deliver the programme albeit later in the year. The current plan is to open applications in May for a late summer/autumn roll-out if public health advice allows. We will update everyone as the situation develops.

Cycling remains a great way to keep fit and active and is a good way to boost immunity but we are advising cyclists to avoid riding in groups and urge them to undertake solo rides only for the foreseeable future.

Of course, we will continue to follow the latest advice and post updates on the website.

We appreciate your understanding in this difficult period.

Interested in helping out?

To make our events as successful as they can be, we need your help.

Can you spare a few hours to help us at a Big Bike Revival event?

Once the coronavirus threat has passed, they will be taking place right across the country, encouraging more people to get on their bikes.

Events are delivered in partnership with a network of small, volunteer-led organisations rooted in the local communities which work to tackle a range of needs and challenges.

We'll need volunteers to help with a variety of tasks from helping people learn how to ride, to assisting filling out questionnaires and talking to people about how they can build cycling into their lives.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to share your passion about cycling, recruit new members to your group and help us to encourage more people to cycle.

If you are able to volunteer at an event, please email us at bigbikerevival@cyclinguk.org, letting us know where you live and the dates you would be available.
