Cycling UK is excited to offer free e-cycle skills and confidence sessions and loans to staff at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust

Due to fleet changes we are no longer offering free e-cycle loans from Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. However, you can reserve a free e-cycle loan through one of the Making cycling e-asier community hubs in Manchester.

Try an e-cycle

Hopping on an e-cycle regularly avoids having to pay for expensive fuel, car repairs and parking. Not only that, pedalling for short journeys can bring mental and physical health benefits and contribute to a cleaner environment. We're so certain of the benefits that we want to help staff at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust discover them for themselves.

Skills and confidence sessions

If you haven’t cycled for a while, or this is the first time you’ve used an e-cycle, you can book training and support through one of our skills and confidence sessions.

These free sessions take place just a short five minute walk from the Wythenshawe Hospital entrance, so you can get a breath of fresh air on your way there. Our friendly instructors will be on hand to assess your skills and requirements and guide you through e-cycling to give you the confidence to get riding quickly and easily.

Our team will provide you with an e-cycle and a helmet if you wish to wear one (or you are welcome to bring your own).

During the session you will learn:

  • How to pedal and operate the e-cycle through fun games
  • Basic maintenance checks
  • Best practice when preparing for your e-cycle journey
  • Top tips when e-cycling on the road through interactive activities
  • The session will cover some cycling skills but rest assured, there is no test, pass or fail involved. Our aim is to give you the skills and advice you need to confidently start your e-cycling journey.
