About us

We are a friendly mixed group that used to meet up at the now defunct Eureka Cycling Café at the Two Mills junction on the A540; hence our name.  These days we typically start our rides from a café at the southern end of the Wirral that is convenient for our group members who mostly come from the Wirral, North Cheshire and just across the border in Wales. We ride everything including fancy carbon fibre racers, classic British tourers, gravel bikes and increasingly E-bikes.

Varied ride programme

You don't need to be super-fit as our rides are graded A to C to give you some idea of what to expect and we typically ride in smaller pods to accommodate those who wish to ride at different paces. All our rides are led by experienced volunteers who will brief you fully and organise the group at the start.

So take a look at our programme to see where we are going – typically beyond Chester into the lanes of Cheshire, Wrexham and occasionally the hillier parts of North Wales during the summer and shorter gentler rides on the Wirral and the flatter parts of neighbouring Cheshire during the winter months.

A friendly bunch

The social side of our group is important to us so we always stop for lunch at a café or a pub although there is usually somewhere close by suitable for those who prefer to bring their own sandwiches.  And quite a few of us have been known to go touring, ride Land’s End to John O’ Groats or ventured abroad to ride in sunnier climates or attend events like the ever popular Semaine Fédérale in France.

What you need to get involved

All you need is roadworthy bike, a spare inner tube, pump and tools in case of a puncture, although there's always someone who will help you out if necessary. It’s also a good idea to carry a drink and maybe waterproofs too as we are out all day.

Then just book a place on a ride or contact us.

Women only rides

Our Bicycle Belles group also offers short, introductory cycle rides just for women every month on a Saturday morning. We typically stop at a café part way and return by lunchtime.
