Stevenage Cycle Campaigns - Residents' Panel
More information about our Residents' Panel
Our cycle network was state of the art in the 1960s, but hasn't always received the love it deserved. Other towns are catching up. We want to know if the network still meets your needs. That's why we set up a residents' panel in August 2025.

This volunteer-led group gives you a chance to share your voice on local cycling issues, connect with others who cycle for everyday journeys in Stevenage, and help shape our campaigns. We meet four times a year with flexible involvement - join when it suits you.
The input from the residents’ panel has been actively used in our campaigning in the following ways:
-
Activity notes from our first residents’ panel event in August 2025 have been handed over to Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) as input for their consultation on wayfinding and routes in Stevenage.
-
Residents’ experiences of cycling in Stevenage, particularly routes and barriers to cycling, were included in our presentation to the Stevenage Borough Council (SBC) Environment & Economy Select Committee in February 2026.
-
The residents’ panel meeting in March 2026 focused on preparing cycling-related questions for all candidates ahead of the local elections in May 2026.
-
Supported people to request a cycle hangar in their neighbourhood.
The next meeting is on Saturday July 4th - 10.30am to 12.30pm.
