Free Bike Doctor & Adult Guided Ride at Nestle Thief Lane car park on Thurs 20 Oct 2022
Thanks to funding from Cycling UK, the team at Everybody’s Cycling are pleased to offer a series of free events as part of the Big Bike Revival.
On Thursday 20th October 2022 at Nestle Thief Lane car park (on the left just after Nestle's Product Technology Centre as you are heading north along Haxby Road in York ), we are offering two free events - a Bike Doctor and a led adult bike ride.
BIKE DOCTOR from 10am to 1pm
Look out for the Bike Doctor sign and gazebo in the car park. No pre-booking is required for Bike Doctor. Just turn up on the day with your bike and complete a short paper form (bike checks are subject to staff availability on the day). The Bike Doctor is onsite from 10am to 1pm.
Bring your bike along for a free safety check and basic repair. We will carry out a basic M check to check if your bike is safe to ride. The necessary parts needed for basic cycle repairs (standard brake pads, inner tubes, gear and brake cables and nuts and bolts) are free. We will suggest you to visit your local bike shop for any additional parts or repairs beyond our basic repair. We can recommend local bike repair shops if needed.
Everybody is welcome to the Bike Doctor, but children under 18 but must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

ADULT GUIDED RIDE at 1:30pm (ride length up to 45 mins)
Starting from the car park at 1:30pm, our friendly ride leader will take up to 6 people on a guided ride along quiet local roads and cycle paths for up to 45 minutes (ride length is subject to group riding ability). Improve your cycling skills so you can ride with family and friends with confidence.
Bikes, helmets and high viz vests are available to borrow for free. Please get in touch via email@example.com or call 01904 951900 in advance if you require a bike and to discuss your requirements in more detail. Pre-booking is essential for the ride and spaces are limited (up to 6 people). Ages 18+ only.
If you have your own bike, you are more than welcome to bring it. Why not get it safety checked for free by our Bike Doctor beforehand?
