Roanna Warren
Founder of Girls That Ride Bikes
Roanna is the founder of Girls That Ride Bikes, a Dorset-based cycling community. GTRB offers a space where women can ride at their own pace, without pressure or judgement. It isn’t about racing – just getting out, moving your body and having a good time with others.
GTRB has grown exponentially over the last few years, culminating in the GTRB Wild Weekender, a cycling festival for women with mechanics workshops, fun rides and inspiring talks. Roanna also helps organise and lead inclusive, no-drop rides across Dorset, as well as longer challenges – this year she and a group of eight women completed the epic 340km ‘chase the sun’ ride.
“GTRB, for me, is a testament to the generosity, talent and free spirit that is Ro. She inspires us to explore the outdoors, challenge our minds, keep healthy and make new friendships. Ro lights the fuse and fans the fire. She got me and countless others out when we felt we weren’t athletic enough. It is hard to believe she is a busy full time working mum AND a GB aquathlete too. She does it all simply for the love of bringing women together. She is, quite simply, the community champion of cycling we all need in our lives!”
