Rachel Martin

Cycling champion transforming Aberdeen

Rachel works as Communications and Campaigns Secretary of the Aberdeen Cycle Forum. Her commitment and effort have been instrumental in campaigning to build new cycle tracks in Aberdeen, stop idling cars and make Aberdeen more accessible for sustainable transport. She started cycling after choosing to use a cargo bike instead of a car to take her kids to school and was amazed by how it changed her life.  Rachel helps organise community rides, adult cycle sessions, litter picks and creative initiatives such as street design competitions. She lives the values she campaigns for and shares experiences through her blog, listens to others and builds strong relationships within the community.

“Rachel Martin truly embodies the spirit of this award, not just as a woman in cycling, but as a key voice in our community.”
