Katy co-founded the Chorlton Park Bike Train – along with fellow winner Hannah Jeffares and fellow parents. It launched in early 2025, with just a few children (including Katy’s own). It has grown to 60-70 people weekly – and a record of 193 children and parents. The bike train committee has offered learn-to-ride groups and free fixing sessions, to ensure that cycling to school feels accessible for all, regardless of previous experience or bike ownership.
