Bike Week 2020 - 6 to 14 June

Cycling UK continues to support the UK to cycle
This remains true during this difficult period with the ongoing threat of coronavirus Covid-19

Bike Week 2020 - 6 to 14 June

Bike Week, delivered by Cycling UK, is an annual celebration to showcase cycling. Thousands of people all over the UK enjoy the simple pleasure of riding a bike.
Bike Week 2020 will be online from 6 to 14 June with activities and events taking place in September

We realise in these uncertain times, helping people to come together to ride may not be possible, so we're looking to hold Bike Week events and activities later in the year in September.

Cycling remains a great way to keep fit and active and is a good way to boost immunity, but we are advising cyclists to avoid riding in groups and urge them to undertake solo rides only for the foreseeable future.

That said we can keep talking about and sharing our love of riding, your enthusiasm for and knowledge of cycling makes you well placed to help do that. That's why we'll be celebrating cycling online during Bike Week in June.

The facts

Cycling is incredible; it will help improve so many aspects of your life.

  • Cycling to work can mean you have a 45% lower risk of developing cancer, and a 46% lower risk of cardiovascular disease
  • If you cycle regularly in adulthood, you will enjoy a level of fitness equivalent to someone 10 years younger
  • If all cycle journeys increased from the current level of 2% to 25% by 2050, the collective benefit would be £248bn
