Joanne Woolley

Joanne Woolley joined Cycling UK as Director of Finance and Operations in December 2025, bringing extensive experience in charity finance, governance and organisational leadership.

With a career spanning retail and commercial roles, followed by 18 years in the environmental not-for-profit sector, including senior positions at Earthwatch Europe and the Woodland Trust, Joanne has led large multidisciplinary teams and overseen major transformation programmes.

Her experience includes ERP implementation, strengthening governance and risk frameworks, and improving financial controls to support long-term organisational sustainability.

A problem-solver at heart, Joanne is motivated by helping organisations focus on what matters most: building strong foundations, ensuring financial resilience and providing clarity of purpose so that mission-led work can thrive, particularly where changes in people’s behaviour can deliver meaningful environmental benefit.

Alongside her executive role, Joanne is Honorary Treasurer at Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust and a member of her local parish council, contributing to strong stewardship and the wellbeing of her local community.

Outside of work, Joanne enjoys spending time outdoors, playing golf and cycling, as well as relaxing with her pets and finding space to reset away from busy organisational life.
