Cycling for everyday journeys
An everyday journey is a short trip of less than five miles, or a destination in a 20-minute neighbourhood. This can include visits to food retailers, schools, health services, banks, employment nearby, as well as open spaces.
Here are some examples of everyday journeys that can be easily taken by bike:
- Local shops, errands, and appointments
- Work
- To or from public transport
- Library
- Education, school runs and childcare facilities
- Vacation
- Visiting friends or relatives
- Attend leisure activities
