The Jo Cox Way - connecting communities through cycling

Welcome to The Jo Cox Way Ride - an affiliated group of Cycling UK.

It is an annual bike ride from West Yorkshire to London. Bringing people together through #Cycling, showing we have #MoreInCommon & raising funds for @JoCoxFoundation

We are thrilled that you have dropped by to find out more information about the annual Jo Cox Way bike ride from Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire to London. The Jo Cox Way is Wed 28th July to Sun 1st August 2021

We have over 60 riders committed to making the full 5-day journey. Join a day ride as the cyclists ride through your region and be part of the JCW event

OR ... Get your bike ready ...Join in and pledge to ride. In 2020 we set up a virtual event and cyclists from around the world logged bike miles for any rides they did. The joint effort clocked a mileage equivalent to riding round the world.

In 2021 we're inviting you to pledge to ride ...but this time our target is TWICE AROUND THE GLOBE!

About us

We believe that communities are stronger when working together.

In her maiden speech in parliament Jo Cox MP spoke about having 'far more in common than that which divides us' and The Jo Cox Way bike ride is a wonderful example of the 'More in Common' ethos.

The ride brings together people from all backgrounds through a shared love of cycling and the goal of completing the challenging 5 day ride creates a strong sense of togetherness. It is something Jo herself would have loved and it is a fitting and important part of her powerful legacy.

The Jo Cox Way bike ride starts in Jo's parliamentary constituency of Batley & Spen on 28th July 2021 and arrives in Lambeth in London 5 days later on the 1st of August.

We are connecting communities using the power of two-wheels and celebrating the #MoreInCommon values of Rt. Hon. Jo Cox MP.. The route represents the journey that Jo Cox took on behalf of her constituents to represent them in Parliament. We are keeping alive Jo's legacy and celebrating the countless selfless activities that people undertake in their communities.

There are 60 places available on the full route ride.

Fund raising to support the Jo Cox Foundation is encouraged

The Jo Cox Foundation was established in 2016 by the friends and family of the late Jo Cox MP. The Foundation exists to build a positive legacy for Jo and to create something positive from the tragedy that was her murder. The vision is for a kinder, more compassionate society where every individual has a sense of belonging and where we recognise that we have more in common than that which divides us.

The Jo Cox Foundation inspires and galvanises positive change at local, national and international levels. It does this by partnering with visionary individuals and organisations who share our commitment to the fairer, kinder world that Jo dedicated her life to building.

Jo dedicated her life to building Stronger Communities, A Better Public Life and A Fairer World

The ride forms part of the series of More In Common events organised by The Jo Cox Foundation.
