About us

We're a local group of cyclists of all ages and cycling abilities who enjoy meeting up to ride for fitness, pleasure and socialising.

We ride all year round and organise rides around Falmouth, throughout Cornwall, the UK and abroad. We strongly encourage beginners and will always have a ride to accommodate them and those who might not be able to go too far because of health reasons.

Competent children are welcome accompanied by an adult and all riding is on road (apart from Tuesday night off-road rides). We welcome new members and hangers on, so if you would like to ride with us, think you can handle having the micky being taken and can buy the odd round, come and join us.

After riding out 3 times with us you will be asked to join up.

We have had several enquires from new riders recently, for new riders there are easier rides at 10.00am until the end of February, you don't have to start with the faster riders or go all day.

Falmouth Wheelers are a CTC affilated group. For more information please go to the Falmouth Wheelers Website.

Information about the group rides

SUNDAY RIDES:

Longer Ride; fast pace, about 80 miles. Start 9.00am.

Long Ride; steady pace about 60 mile. Start 9.00am

Intermediates: Steady pace, about 35 plus miles. Start 9.00am.

Strollers: Slower pace, about 25 plus miles. Start 9.00am.

Improvers: Slower pace, about 20 miles. Start 9.00 or 9.30am

The mileage are only suggestions and can be adjusted on the day depending on the strength/weakness of the group. Also, improvers could be part of strollers depending on their abilities. Where possible, destinations should be publicised prior to date so late comers or en route members can play catch up.

WEDNESDAY RIDES:

Distance: 20 to 30 miles, depending on the riders present. Start 8.50am

PATHFINDERS:

Held roughly once a month on a date trying not to clash with audaxes etc, and all riders should make an effort to support. Pathfinder rides are about 25 to 30 miles, and a slowish pace to allow everybody a chance to ride with all abilities. Pace will be determined by slowest rider and stronger riders should make an effort to encourage and support those struggling.

Route to be as easy as possible with option of those riders wanting more to ride to start and back.

All club members should try and make an effort to support these rides.

Riders in any group should endeavour to look after their comrades! if you are aware someone is behind make sure they follow you at a junction.
