Belles on Bikes Tayside
Our activities
About us
The Tayside Belles started in April 2015 with volunteer ride leaders running regular social rides for women in the Tayside area. We currently use the Spond system to organise events.
Some frequently asked questions...
How do I join? New ladies are welcome to come along to any of our rides provided you have a roadworthy bike. You can sign up here https://club.spond.com/landing/signup/bellesbiketays/form/37AB27070A57463E925BCFC1C11E381F
What do I need to bring? All you need to join a ride is a roadworthy bike. If you have not been out on your bike for a while then it is definitely worth pumping up the tyres and giving it a quick check over the day before. We usually have a coffee stop so money for coffee or lunch is good. We only ask for a contribution towards membership from people who have come out on usually 3 or more rides over the last year - this is in April each year.
I have not been on my bike for a while … will I keep up? Our rides are social rides not races. If you are comfortable riding a bike and are reasonably fit and healthy then you will be fine. If you are not very confident then you may wish to come along to one of our shorter rides in the first instance to see how you feel. We also split into groups based on average speed so we try to match people to the others they are riding with.
