About us

Cycling UK Peak Audax represents the Cycling UK in the Greater Manchester area.  We run club runs, Audax events, as well as other cycling activities through our subsidiary groups :-

Manchester CTC - we meet on the 3rd Saturday of each month with a club ride exploring the cycling infrastructure in the Greater Manchester area.  This ride is ideal if you have a folding bike as we ride between the various Metrolink termini but non-folders are also welcome (we'll guide you back to where we started, or you can take the train); more details here.

Our next ride is on Saturday 20th January 2024.  We meet at Irlam Station for a any easy paced ride to Appley Bridge Station via Chat Moss and canal towpath.  It's about 35km (21 miles) and you return to Irlam, either by train via Oxford Road, or cycle back via Upholland and Culcheth.  It's a 10:30 start from Irlam, but get there early as the cafe at the station is recommended.

See https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45310597 for our ride route.

Peak Audax CTC - our Audax rides start from various locations in the Manchester area, mainly Cheadle, Marple and Poynton.  See our Calendar of events and sign up for a terrific day out (and some nights out!).  In addition, we have a wide range of other Permanently available rides which you can undertake anytime you please.  From 50km through to 600km, fairly flat or into the hills, there is almost certainly bound to be a ride that you'll enjoy.  There is even one that climbs Werneth Low by all 7 possible routes.

Bury CTC - meet Sundays on The Rock, Bury.

Rochdale CTC - meet Saturdays and Sundays outside Rochdale Leisure Centre 9:30 - introductory rides on the first Saturday of the month (9:30 from Rochdale Leisure Centre)

West Manchester CTC - meet on Sundays at 11am in Agden

We also have friends in other Cycling Clubs in the Manchester Area who will also welcome Cycling UK members, so by all means get in touch with them and see what they get up to.
