The Inclusive Cycling Experience, funded by the Motability Foundation, helps disabled people experience the benefits of cycling by removing barriers that too often get in the way. Explore the impact through real stories, data and reports

Since 2024, the award-winning Inclusive Cycling Experience has helped more people access cycling by providing the right cycle, support and inclusive spaces to ride.

This evidence-led programme delivers measurable benefits for wellbeing, independence and community connection, creating healthier, happier lives through cycling for disabled people and those who face barriers to “standard” cycling.

Key stats

Between April 2024 and January 2026, the Inclusive Cycling Experience supported 4,879 engagements with people at its centres in Greater Manchester and Inverness.

Reports

In 2025, the programme hit a major milestone with the launch of Cycling UK’s Inclusive Cycling Experience report at an event in Manchester, sharing new evidence on what helps make cycling accessible for all.

The findings highlight the vital role inclusive cycling hubs play, and how non-standard cycle loans can make cycling a realistic option for people who once thought it was out of reach.
