Active Travel Fund Projects

Following successful bids to the Active Travel Fund, Hertfordshire County Council are now undertaking infrastructure improvements across the county.

Details of the Stevenage schemes are below:

North Road Cycleway 

This new cycleway from Corey's Mill Lane to the gyratory system at the High Street was formally opened in July 2024.  Full details about the scheme can be found on the HCC website Link

High Street Improvements

After a series of consultations, work is about to begin due to begin on improvements for cycling and walking in the Old Town High Street in Autumn 2025.

Stevenage Wayfinding Improvements

A project has been commissioned to improve signage on the cycleways - more information about this is in the Proposed Projects section on the HCC website Link
