Thursday 4th Dec - Train +ride, Cambridge Roman Road, 29 miles

Meet at Stevenage railway stn in time to catch the 10:02 train to Cambridge or go to Hitchin Stn to get on the same train at 10:07 or from Letchworth at 10:13.  Train takes 39mins from Stevenage, no changes involved.

The ride is 29 miles , +1255ft of climbing, 50% unpaved and is ideal for mountain, gravel and hybrid bikes. 

The route is on cycleways and residential streets through Cherry Hinton and Fulbourn, lanes to Gt Wilbraham, bridleway and lanes to Balsham, farm track and 5 miles of old Roman road to Wandlebury Park, cycle paths back to Cambridge.

Approximately 3.5 hrs riding time plus time for refreshments at The Old Butchers Coffee Shop in Balsham.

Trains back from Camb to Hitchin and Stevenage at 24, 54 and 57 minutes past every hour. 39 mins travel time with no changes.
