People power: Creating new community paths with Laura Laker

In this webinar we'll be joined by Laura Laker, journalist and author of 'Potholes and Pavements: A Bumpy Ride on Britain’s National Cycle Network'.
In writing the book, she learned first hand about the incredible work that went into building the National Cycle Network. Much of it was driven by volunteers, by champions in local authorities and partner organisations, and by charity workers - people who dared to dream big, against the odds. People like you.
That led her to compile all this volunteer experience and knowledge into a rural path toolkit, to help others who want to create their own paths.
Laura says: “Working on this project for the past year has been one of the great privileges of my career so far. In both the book, and in this toolkit, I have been constantly inspired by the efforts of small groups of people, sometimes over decades, absolutely committed to achieve something positive for their communities - not least for children.”
