Cycling UK's first manifesto ask for May's elections is for an Active Travel Act in Northern Ireland - we believe this is the most effective way of embedding cycling in the culture of the assembly. We need to start the conversation of what this Act should include.

We are thrilled to be joined by Chris, who is an active member of Cycling UK and a former Special Adviser to the Welsh Government. He worked on three key pieces of Welsh legislation: the Active Travel Act, the Planning Act and the Well-being of Future Generations Act. He's an active cycle campaigner with Cardiff Cycle City and is Secretary of the Cross Party Group on the Active Travel Act in the Welsh Parliament. In 2019 he led the review of the Welsh Government's Active Travel Delivery Guidance. He's also written on decarbonising transport for the Institute of Welsh Affairs and the Wales TUC.

Chris will give a short presentation on the Welsh ATA, this will be followed by a Q&A session and a more general discussion with attendees.

Chris will be speaking in a personal capacity.
