Dear All

The destination for the ride on 27 March is Elsrickle.

Meet at Charwood Grill, Fairmilehead at 9.50 a.m. for a 10.00 am departure.

The length of the ride is 55 miles. The end point will be Gillespie crossroads in Juniper Green.

The route is a fairly standard clockwise one, all on road except for the Auchendinny to Penicuik path. See the route at :-

West Linton Loo stop . Eat in Elsrickle Village Hall. Afternoon coffee at the Currie Corner Cafe.

Riding in a group requires consideration for others in the group. Our riding guidelines are essential reading prior to coming out on the ride to ensure safety for yourself and the other riders. https://www.cyclinguk.org/group/page/guidelines-safe-riding

At any turns, make sure the person behind sees you. Please take note of my phone number 0778 6662943 in case you get separated from the group.

Please ensure your bike is roadworthy, a nd that you carry 2 spare inner tubes and tools.

In accordance with good riding practice you should carry emergency contact details both on your person (card in wallet/purse, ICE on mobile) and in your bike bag.
While experienced group members will always give assistance and advice to other riders ultimately you are responsible for yourself and making your own way home. Having said that hopefully no-one would be left in a situation of not knowing how to get home .

An attendance sheet will be completed on the morning. The ride is primarily for Cycling UK members . However non-members are welcome to attend, but would be expected to join Cycling UK after 3 rides.
