centenary celebration rides July 9th 2023
Event description
WE ARE 100 THIS YEAR and planning to celebrate by having club 100 mile and 100k rides on July 9th.
Members of local clubs are very welcome to help us celebrate by joining us on these rides.
Both rides begin and finish in Pelsall High Street WS3 4AY (by the clock), you will be riding out through Staffordshire and Shropshire with opportunities for coffee, lunch and tea stops if required.
How will it work?
On our website will find links to a GPS route for each ride, alternatively you can download a cuesheet (or simply do as I would do and follow someone in front!)
The rides start from 7am but it is recommended that you start in groups 15 minutes apart and please retain gaps so that passing vehicles can safely pass.
1) Download the route to your GPS, or download and print the cuesheet (links below for both)
2) Download and print the list of suggested stopping places for breaks (links below for both rides), these are only suggestions, as parts of the route may not have suitable places it is suggested to also carry food and drinks with you.
3) Also, use our checklist (also on the website soon) to make sure you have everything you need.
All we ask is a £1 fee to take part which will go towards our administration, the provision of an emergency sweeper van and a badge memento of the ride. Non club members can also join our club for the day, and we ask all riders to fill in our form with their emergency contact details and hand it in at the start.
Emergency contact and one day membership form. There will also be forms available at the start. Should you wish to join our club permanently, this will cost a further £1, there is an application form on our website: walsall-cycling.co.uk.
We will have a couple of support vehicles, and we will provide the telephone numbers for them on the day.
Please note you ride at your own risk and WAC cannot accept any responsibility for loss or injury.
