Sara managed to turn teaching her son to ride a bike into a career after a conversation with a job coach about getting back into work after a brain injury. Today she dedicates much of her time, both in work and as a volunteer, to helping more people cycle. She is lead project officer for adapted cycling charity Gateway Wheelers; she volunteers with Sustrans and runs women’s cycle maintenance courses at Recyke y’Bike, among other things.
“You can find me leading rides for British Cycling’s Guided Rides and Breeze programmes. I also run community cycling group Houghton Rectory Riders.”
