Philippa Battye

Ultra-racer and competitive bikepacker

Philippa started her cycling journey commuting in London. She loved it for its sense of freedom and escape from the everyday stresses of life. This evolved into touring and from there to enduro racing. Philippa competes in long-distance, unsupported bikepacking races such as the 1,900km Silk Road Mountain Race and the inaugural GBDURO – a 2,000km bikepacking enduro. She is a key member of the Adventure Syndicate, inspiring more women to take up adventure cycling.

“Cycling has increased my self-reliance, creating a strong desire for a simpler life stripped back to the essentials.”
