Menekse works tirelessly to promote to cycling to women from ethnic minority backgrounds. In 2019 she helped establish Londra Bisiklet Kulubu (London Cycling Club), the first Turkish-speaking community cycling club in London, to break down barriers to cycling within the Turkish community. She organises and manages cycling classes for women and children.

“I am very happy to be at centre of this wonderful community initiative and making a real difference. We have amazing volunteers, cycle instructors and a bike mechanic. I love our team and I enjoy teaching women and kids how to cycle.”
