Jan Chisholm

Empowering voice for cyclists

Jan Chisholm has been cycling since the 1960s, from family rides, cycle touring, to commuting, triathlons and even completing LEJOG at age 19. Now a committed utility and recreational cyclist, she has given up her car to live her environmental values.

Since 2018, Jan has dedicated herself to helping hundreds of new and returning riders – especially women – gain confidence, balance and road safety skills through her supportive, Bikeability-inspired training.

She founded Cycling4Everyone (North East) to provide bikes and cycling support to disadvantaged communities, including asylum seekers. As founder of Northumberland Cycling Campaign, Jan advocates tirelessly for safer infrastructure, bringing lived experience and lifelong passion to every mile.
