Darcey got her first balance bike before she could walk and was pedalling by 3 years old. She joined the Fibrax Fenwicks Wrexham Cycling Club Go Ride and has competed in the Go Ride and regional series events in circuit, cyclocross and MTB at U6, U8, U10 level and is now moving to U12.
Now 10 years old, she is the current U10 Welsh Circuit Champion and has just won the U10 North Wales Go Ride MTB Series.
"Darcey competes in triathlons, cyclo-cross, mountain biking, and circuit races. She doesn’t always come first, but she never gives up—and that’s what makes her so special. Even after a tough race, she’s the one you’ll see smiling, riding around with her friends, and cheering others on. She’s got grit, but also a warm heart.
“As her parents, we’ve had the privilege of watching her grow into a strong and determined young rider. We’ve seen her fall, get up, and keep going. We’ve seen her train hard in all weathers, give up lie-ins to attend events, and do it all with joy in her eyes. That kind of spirit is rare.”
