Designing safer streets for all

Becca has cycled through every stage of her life, from childhood to motherhood, finding joy and purpose on two wheels. As an architect and placemaking expert, she uses cycling to shape people-focused cities. After the profound loss of her colleague Emma Burke Newman, Becca launched the ‘Waiting to Happen’ campaign, working with Glasgow City Council to redesign dangerous junctions and make streets safer for everyone. Her advocacy combines professional expertise, personal commitment and a deep compassion for the cycling community.

"Cycling hasn’t just changed my life - it has defined my values and my determination to create safer, more human places."
