1. What is Strand 2: Shared Use?

This strand provides grants to organisations to support access to Shared Use cycles. We know that owning a cycle will not be the best option for everyone and there are different models of shared bike access that can provide sustainable and cost-effective mobility for people who wouldn’t otherwise have access to cycling.

The Shared Use strand provides capital grants to a range of organisations to purchase cycles and equipment for a range of shared use models including; loan, subscription, hire, bike libraries, pool bikes, or bike share schemes.

If you are interested in applying for funding to purchase bikes for specific individuals in your community, please see Strand 1: Individual Ownership.
