Bike Week 2026
Run by Cycling UK for more than 100 years, Bike Week is the UK’s biggest celebration of cycling and a chance to show how cycling can make everyday life better for people and communities across the country.
Our mission is to create happier, healthier and greener lives through cycling, and through Bike Week we’re inspiring more people to experience its benefits.
Whether you cycle every day, ride occasionally or have not been on a bike in years, Bike Week is for you.
There are two main ways to get involved this year:
- Host a Bike Week Brunch – a simple, sociable way to celebrate Bike Week and support Cycling UK
- Join The Big Bike Revival – free, friendly local sessions to help adults build confidence, build skills or get back into cycling
However you choose to take part, Bike Week is about celebrating cycling in a way that works for you. So if you simply want to go our for a cycle or try swapping a short car journey for a bike ride these are also great ways to celebrate the week and get involved.
Host a Bike Week Brunch
A Bike Week Brunch is a fun and easy way to celebrate Bike Week while supporting Cycling UK’s work.
Your brunch can be anything you want it to be. It could be coffee and cake with friends, a workplace breakfast, a school bake sale, a community get-together or a brunch before or after a ride.
The idea is simple: bring people together during Bike Week in a way that feels enjoyable and easy to organise.
By hosting a Bike Week Brunch, you’ll be:
- Celebrating Bike Week in a sociable way
- Bringing people together around cycling and community
- Raising vital funds to support our work
When you register, you’ll receive a Bike Week Brunch fundraising pack with ideas, tips and resources to help you get started, spread the word and raise money in a way that's fun and enjoyable.
(All registered events and associated rides during Bike Week are covered under our events insurance, thanks to Bikmo – open to both members and non-members.)
Join The Big Bike Revival
The Big Bike Revival is another great way to take part in Bike Week.
Run by Cycling UK and delivered by local organisations, The Big Bike Revival offers free, friendly sessions to help adults start cycling, return to cycling or feel more confident riding in everyday life.
Sessions are designed to be welcoming and practical, especially for people who would benefit from a bit of support to get going. Depending on where you are, activities may include:
- Learn to ride – start cycling as a complete beginner, build your skills or return after years out of the saddle
- Pick up basic maintenance skills – learn simple repair skills and tips to help you look after your bike
- Get your bike checked – have minor repairs carried out and get a basic safety check
- Join a led ride – explore local routes, go at your own pace, build confidence and meet like-minded people
If you are looking for a simple way to get involved in Bike Week, joining a Big Bike Revival session is a great place to start. You can also take part in many of our other projects across the UK.
Get inspired to ride your bike
Bike Week is a celebration of cycling across the whole of the UK, and we’re active in all four nations.
From community programmes in Scotland to campaigning and advocacy in Wales and Northern Ireland, we work in different ways to help more people enjoy the benefits of cycling and make riding a more accessible and affordable choice.
Wherever you live, Bike Week is a great time to explore Cycling UK’s work and get inspired to ride.
Support Cycling UK
Bike Week is a celebration, but it is also a chance to support the charitable work Cycling UK does all year round.
Through our campaigns, programmes and community work, we help more people experience cycling’s joys and benefits and speak up for everyone who cycles so that riding is a safe and easy choice for more people.
Every gift, membership and sign-up helps us create happier, healthier and greener lives through cycling.
