Natalie Wilson is part of Cycling UK's 100 Women in Cycling 2018 list for completing an epic 5000-mile ride to raise awareness of EDS, the chronic life-altering condition she herself faces.

Cycling UK member Natalie Wilson is a cyclist with Wokingham Cycling Club, and calls herself ‘Zebra on a Bike’. After a childhood of strange symptoms, at university Natalie was diagnosed Elhers Danlos Syndrome, a complex combination of genetic conditions which can cause a range of debilitating and painful symptoms. Thanks to a recumbent trike, cycling quickly became a way Natalie could safely and reasonably comfortably stay active and enjoy being outdoors.

This June, Natalie finished an incredible 5000-mile self-supported journey around the UK’s coastline, including a stop to run the Brighton Half Marathon, raising awareness of her condition and as well as money for Ehlers-Danlos Support UK. She became the first disabled female cyclist to cycle the entirety of the UK coastline.

Cycling UK’s 100 Women in Cycling is an annual list celebrating inspirational women who are encouraging others to take part in this wonderful and life-enhancing activity.
