Cycling UK and Saddle Skedaddle renew partnership to bring routes to life for more cyclists
The renewed partnership will see Saddle Skedaddle take on the role of Cycling UK’s Official Routes Holiday Partner, strengthening the link between the charity’s growing network of long-distance routes and expert-led touring experiences.
Renewing our partnership with Saddle Skedaddle allows us to bring our routes to life in a really practical way, giving our members and other cyclists more confidence to take on longer rides and explore new places by bike Katie Hammond, Commercial Director at Cycling UK
As a company with 30 years of experience in developing cycling holidays around the world, Saddle Skedaddle brings deep knowledge of route design, logistics and rider support. This expertise is now being more closely aligned with Cycling UK’s route development work, helping to show not just where to ride, but how those routes can be experienced in the best way.
Saddle Skedaddle already offers guided small group holidays on a number of Cycling UK routes, including Rebellion Way, King Alfred’s Way and Traws Eryri, giving riders the reassurance of expert planning and support, alongside exclusive benefits for Cycling UK members.
This approach will continue to develop as new routes are introduced, with Saddle Skedaddle currently working on a dedicated holiday for the new Scottish gravel route launching on 25 June 2026. This provides a clear example of how the two organisations are collaborating to turn new routes into accessible and enjoyable cycling experiences.
We’re proud to continue working with Cycling UK and to help more riders turn great routes into memorable cycling holidays Paul Snedker, Founder and Director at Saddle Skedaddle
Over the past 18 months, the partnership has supported Cycling UK members with the confidence and knowledge to go beyond everyday cycling. Through articles, guides and real-world stories, Saddle Skedaddle has shared practical insight into cycle tours, covering topics such as planning group trips, building up to longer rides and taking on iconic journeys like Land’s End to John o’ Groats.
A dedicated webinar on choosing the right cycling holiday also gave members the opportunity to hear directly from experienced guides and better understand how to turn an idea into a realistic and rewarding trip.
Alongside supporting riders directly, the partnership contributes to Cycling UK’s wider work to grow participation in cycling. Saddle Skedaddle has doubled its donations from 5 pence to 10 pence for every mile ridden by customers on Cycling UK routes.
Customers can also choose to donate when they book. Last year, this initiative raised £1,170.75 for Cycling UK’s programmes, with the per-mile donation now doubled to increase its impact.
By bringing together Cycling UK’s routes and Saddle Skedaddle’s expertise in crafting incredible cycling holidays, the partnership creates a clear pathway from local rides to longer-distance adventure.
As Cycling UK approaches its 150th anniversary in 2028, both organisations will continue working together to inspire more people to explore and go further by bike.
