Cyclists left unprotected. Stand with us today
Help us fight back
British Transport Police have confirmed they won’t review CCTV footage if a bike is stolen after being locked at a station for more than two hours.
That gives thieves a free pass and tells everyone else that cycle theft isn’t a priority.
We’ve written to the BTP Chief Constable urging a review of this policy, but challenging decisions like this takes time, evidence and funding. Your donation today helps us keep up the pressure and continue our work to make cycling safer and more inclusive for everyone.
Why it matters
Policies like this don’t just fail the victims of bike theft, they discourage people from cycling altogether. When those choosing greener, healthier travel options can’t count on even basic protection, it sends the wrong message about our priorities as a country.
With CCTV in place at most stations, it should be easier, not harder, to investigate thefts and hold offenders to account. Protecting cyclists means protecting the future of sustainable travel in the UK.
If you believe that cycle theft should be taken seriously, please support our work today. Your donation will help us challenge this policy and power our wider work to make cycling safer, fairer and properly supported for everyone.
