About us

Bury Tandem Club For Blind and Partially Sighted People is a Cycling UK affiliated group. We are a registered charity (no. 1017270) supporting visually impaired people from across Greater Manchester.

Information about the group rides

We have a five weekly rota with different pairings for each ride. Members phone in their availability and the rota is then sent out within the week. The tandems are set up for each pair, so that riders just need to turn up and ride. Routes range from shorter, flatter rides to some quite challenging rides that touch on the Pennines. We ride a comfortable 13 or 14 mph, aim to stay as a group and have proper cafe stops. We also have occasional car assisted rides and challenge rides.

Some of the places we ride to include: Rivington, Haigh, Hebden Bridge, Whally, Croston, Dunham Massey, and Uppermill.

If you fancy joining us, please get in contact.

We offer front riders tandem training before you pilot a visually impaired person.
