Bury Tandem Club for Blind and Partially Sighted People

Bury Tandem Club members after cafe stop
A club for visually impaired people who live in Greater Manchester
Join up to eight tandems on weekly rides of 40 to 60 miles across Lancashire, Cheshire and West Yorkshire.

Bury Tandem Club has been supporting visually impaired people since the 1980s. We have a fleet of superbly maintained road tandems including one three seater! We welcome men and women of all ages, sizes and experience (our visually impaired stokers range from under five foot to six and a  half foot, and from 24 years old to 78 years old).

For pilots, we can offer something different - tandems are not difficult to ride and you will find that they improve your overall cycling skills - especially communication and anticipation. Tandems are great fun  - they're fast on the flat and downhill but they're also steady to ride. If you can commit to at least one Sunday in five, we'd love to hear from you.

Setting off from Tottington, Bury at about 9.30am destinations include Hebden Bridge, Whalley, Croston, Haigh, Dunham Massey and more. We usually return between 2.30pm and 4.30pm.
