Starting today's hilly ride was Ty, Sue, Mark, Tim and John  (who had rode in from Horncastle) .  A chilly but dry start.  We left Louth (30m above sea level) via Half Penny Lane up to Hallington and then over towards Raithby.  Rather than go into Raithby we  climbed the Goulcby Road to the Blue Stone Heath road.  From the Heath road we  descended Red Hill (past the nature reserve) to the Asterby Road.  Then simply making our way through to Donnington (which is 70m above sea level)  for a well earned coffee at the Post & Pantry.  We said goodbye to Tim  who extended his ride through the picturesque Biscathorpe and then on to  Burgh on Bain to meet an old friend.  Also we said goodbye to John at the bottom of Manor Hill who would make his way home to Horncastle.   Ty, Sue and Mark climbed back up to the Blue Stone Heath road via Manor Hill and would then enjoy a long fast decent through Withcall back into Hallington and finally retrace our ride back to Magna Vitae on Wood Lane for 10.30am covering 18.6miles of good climbing.

Stunning ride with panoramic views of the wold's all the way round.  We passed the Second World War Stenigot Mast(110m high) situated 151m above sea level, and the Small Saint Nicholas' church at Stenigot, and St Andrew's in Donnington On Bain.
