"Steady Saturday" Louth to Covenham Reservoir 6th September 2025

Riders today: Ty, Sue W. , Des and Becky.

Just a short ride today. Starting early (at 7.30 am) from the Meridian Leisure Centre in Louth, the group cycled out via Brackenborough Bends, through Covenham St. Bartholomew and Covenham St. Mary to reach the reservoir. With the recent dry summer, the water level was noticeably low. The local sailing club was up and running, and the group stopped for a coffee and snack (though it was too early for cake).

The return route went via Alvingham, with a stop at Shaw's for provisions.

Des, Becky, and Sue decided to go home off-road it from Louth Park Farm's over to Stewton, where they made a second stop at St. Andrew's Church to take part in the Lincolnshire Wolds Churches Festival.

Meanwhile, Ty headed back to volunteer at the Repair Café at Park Avenue, Louth, where he fixes bikes as a volunteer. After the Repair Café, Ty later cycled down to Stewton for a coffee and a delicious slice of vegan banana cake (made by regular group cyclist Sue C.), and enjoyed browsing through the "massive book" sale.
