Cycling UK Louth Winter 2025-2026 Rides Meeting
Cycling UK Louth Winter 2025-2026 Rides Meeting
In view of the frequent squally showers, 30 mph winds and temperatures barely above 3 Degrees Celsius, it was heartening to see Paul Linder, Steve Croton, Chris Owen and John Rickett turn up for the Winter Listing Rides Meeting. Ty Harness and Alan Hockham had sent apologies.
A full list and joining instructions will be published in the next few weeks. There's an interesting mix of routes and venues, hopefully enough of a variety for a ride to suit all tastes. Steve once again had come armed with a long list of suggestions and Ty had proffered a route to Ulceby Cross. Other highlights: North Coates Flying Club's 'Brass Monkey' Fly-In Event, Horncastle, Cleethorpes, Market Rasen and Hagworthingham. All rides subject of course to alteration due to weather conditions or rider inclination.
CYCLING UK LOUTH John Ambler Cup:
Originally designated for the person who attended the greatest number of rides throughout the year. Although we no longer run a points system, it’s been noted that one rider in particular has been turning up at Louth’s Magna Vitae Meridian Leisure Centre for the ‘Wednesday Wanders’ and Sunday Rides on a regular basis. Indeed, on occasions as ‘Billy No Mates’ but still venturing out flying the flag for Cycling UK Louth. Additionally, joining our away day excursions to Southall and Beverley. With a member of the team out of action, also stepping up to write regular and often humorous ride reports. The Cup this year deservedly goes to John Rickett.
Congratulations John!
