Our Community Pedals
Our activities
About us
We are based in Camden with regular monthly rides in Kentish Town and Kilburn. You can find out more and book your free place on one of our rides at: https://our-community-pedals.eventbrite.com.
This friendly, gentle-paced bike ride is perfect for all confidence levels, including those getting back into the saddle and recent learners. Expect an easy 5–6 mile outing with plenty of pauses, a relaxed refreshment stop halfway, and a total time of around two hours.
This ride is ideal if you want to:
- Build your confidence riding around the local area without any pressure.
- Get some light exercise that feels more like a walk on wheels than a workout.
- Spend time outdoors enjoying nature and your neighbourhood.
- Meet friendly people and share a fun, sociable activity.
If you can pedal, steer and brake, you’re very welcome – you don’t need to be an experienced cyclist. Complete beginners are encouraged to book a free lesson with Camden Council first, then join us to put your new skills into practice.
The ride runs on Saturday mornings every month, with a gently varied route using cycleways, quiet roads and parks, and always that all‑important café/refreshment stop. We meet at 10am either in Kentish Town or Kilburn.
Children and vulnerable adults are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult who remains responsible for them throughout the ride.
Bike checkups:
We offer bike checks before the ride and can help you with minor fixes such as pumping tyres, mending punctures, adjusting brakes and gears. Please arrive a little earlier at 9:30am if you would like a bike check.
Borrowing a bike:
We have bikes to borrow – please book a ticket with a bike to reserve one and arrive a little earlier at 9:45am to give time to setup the bike for you. Please bring a helmet if you have one (we have some to borrow, but bring your own to ensure it fits well)
