Join us for a magical evening cycle ride around Thame as we light up the town in support of the Haddenham - Thame Greenway.

Glowride for the Greenway is a relaxed, friendly group ride designed to be fun and inclusive. As dusk falls, we’ll cycle together around a planned route, with bikes and riders illuminated by lights, LEDs, and anything that glows. The ride aims to raise awareness of the desperate need for the Haddenham–Thame Greenway and celebrate active, sustainable travel in our community.

What to expect:

• Approximately 4 miles cycle ride around the streets of Thame
• Arrive from 19:30 and by 19:45 for a ride start at 20:00 (8pm)
• A sociable, easy-paced group cycle ride
• A welcoming atmosphere for everyone over 18 years old (sorry, no children on this one)
• A chance to show your support for the Haddenham to Thame Greenway
• A great excuse to decorate your bike with lights and glow gear!
• Small groups will be set off at intervals with a dedicated cycle leader to guide you on the route

What to bring:

• A roadworthy bike
• Front and rear bike lights essential
• Glow sticks, LEDs, fairy lights, or anything luminous to make your bike shine

Who can join:

This ride is suitable for everyone over 18 years old.
Whether you’re a regular cyclist or just fancy something a bit different, come along, light up your bike, and be part of a glowing show of support for the Greenway. 🌙✨

After the ride:

We'll finish with the opportunity to head to a local pub in Thame for a drink and a chat. It's a relaxed way to round off the evening, meet other riders and continue the conversation about the Greenway.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

This is a social glow ride held on open public roads and is not a closed-road event. Normal traffic conditions apply.

All participants are responsible for their own safety and must follow all road rules and ride in a safe, predictable manner at all times.

Riders must ensure their bikes are roadworthy with working front and rear lights and reflectors. Hi-vis or illuminated clothing is encouraged.

By registering for this event, you acknowledge that you are riding at your own risk and agree to comply with all road laws and safety requirements.

NB. This event may be cancelled at short notice if there are adverse weather conditions.
