Ride to Steamworks at Glynde

26 October 2025
Local Group Event

Event description

On Sunday 26th October we're leaving promptly at 10.30 from Sainsbury's at Newhaven and cycling to Steamworks, a newly opened 'traditional style'  pub for lunch. Steamworks is at Glynde Railway Station, Glynde, East Sussex, BN8 6SS.

Bring a picnic lunch if you prefer, and find a spot nearby.

Clocks go back this Sunday, so this will be a shorter ride of about 20 miles. Afterwards, people can cycle back or take the train (check availability).

If possible, let us know you're coming! You can email Bob, the ride leader (organiser) at the link on this page.

If you plan to come on any of our rides, please make sure your cycle is in a roadworthy condition. Bring a puncture repair kit, spare inner tube (or as appropriate for tubeless tyres), essential tools, a mobile phone if you have one, something to eat and drink, sunscreen / waterproofs / warm clothing as appropriate. Please follow Cycling UK's guidance, and check with the ride leader about the distance and hilliness of the ride if you are unsure. Be prepared to give contact phone numbers at the start of a ride. Let the ride leader know if you have a medical condition that might affect your ride.
