About us
Brighton and Hove Cycling UK is a friendly and active cycling group based in the lively seaside city of Brighton and Hove on the south coast.
We run regular group rides going to a range of destinations. We are close to the sea, the South Downs and the beautiful countryside of East and West Sussex.
Information about the group rides
Summer cycling
We do all-day Sunday rides of about 50 miles throughout the whole year, and we are now in our peak season! Contact the ride leader for shorter options when the ride looks too long for you.
If you plan to come on a ride, please make sure your cycle is in a roadworthy condition. Bring a puncture repair kit, spare inner tube (or tubeless kit) and lights as appropriate, essential tools, a mobile phone if you have one, enough to eat and drink, sunscreen/ waterproofs/ warm clothing / gloves etc. depending on the weather. Let the ride leader know if you have any medical condition that might affect your riding.
Details of the rides are posted here and on Facebook and Instagram. Please like and follow us!
On a full day ride you’re able to explore further afield with a lunch stop at a village pub or café, returning in the afternoon. Over the summer months mileage can be between 50 and 65 miles at a comfortable touring pace. This is scaled back in the winter due to less daylight.
We are very happy to welcome new riders and potential ride leaders!
We have a lively WhatsApp group.
We have Cycle Advocacy Network (CAN) representation in our committee and among our members. We are keen to see improvement in cycling provision in our area (Brighton and Hove and part of West Sussex) and across the country.
