Ride to the JO.CO café at Handcross in West Sussex

On Sunday 9 August we're leaving promptly at 10.15 am from Shoreham's Giant Bike Store at Falconer's Court, Little High St. Shoreham BN43 5JF. This is close to the Ropetackle centre.

We're riding to the JO.CO café at at The Forge Garage, Handcross, Haywards Heath, RH17 6BJ for lunch. If you prefer, bring a picnic lunch. 

Cycle through Steyning and Partridge Green to Maplehurst, Nuthurst, Mannings Heath, up through St. Leonard’s Forest, Pease Pottage and Handcross for lunch at JO.CO Cafe which describes itself as “A dynamic Portuguese café in Sussex offering strong coffee, tasty treats and brunches”. There is a green space close by for a picnic.

We will return through Staplefield, Goddards Green and Hassocks towards Brighton. Some of us will want to go west to Shoreham from Goddards Green, or branch off sooner. The route to Brighton is approximately 55 miles.

Please note: All our rides are weather-dependent. If the weather looks bad, a ride will be cancelled! Take note of any weather alerts and respond appropriately. Always bring plenty of water to drink when the weather is hot.

If you plan to come on any of our rides, please make sure your cycle is in a roadworthy condition. Bring a puncture repair kit, a spare inner tube (or, for tubeless tyres, as appropriate), essential tools, a mobile phone if you have one, snacks, enough to drink, and sunscreen/waterproofs/warm clothing as appropriate.
