Ride to Chilley Farm and the Pevensey Levels

On Sunday 14th June 2026, we're leaving promptly at 10.30 am from the Costa café at Tesco's superstore in Lewes, BN7 2BY. Please get to the café early if you want to have a cup of coffee before leaving!

We'll be taking the tarmac cycle route from Lewes to Polegate and then the cycle route to the Pevensey Levels, which is marked on the Ordnance Survey map.

This will be a round trip of about 68 miles if you start and finish in Brighton.

We'll have lunch at the Chilley Farm Shop café Rickney Lane, Hailsham BN27 1SE. There is space to have your own picnic in a nearby field, if you prefer that.

It's possible to return to Lewes from Polegate by train (but please check if the trains are running).

If you plan to come on any of our rides, please make sure your cycle is in a roadworthy condition. Bring a puncture repair kit, spare inner tube (or as appropriate for tubeless tyres), essential tools, a mobile phone if you have one, snacks and enough to drink, sunscreen/waterproofs/warm clothing as appropriate. There is a simple signing on process at the beginning of the ride. Please inform the ride leader if you have a medical condition that might affect your ride.
