A Pair of Kirtons

4 July 2026
Sportive/Challenge Ride

Event description

From Poynton over the Pennines to Yorkshire, over the Humber Bridge to Boston, then to Uttoxeter and Wem before returning to Poynton. A simple self service breakfast is offered at the start, Corby Glen village hall at 342km offers the chance for hot food and a nap, there will be food and hot drinks and the opportunity for rest at the finish with the finish control opening earlier than in previous seasons.

An 'easy' 600 where the only challenge is the distance, at least there is no climbing worthy of AAA points. There are some steady climbs in the first 100km as you cross the Pennines, and it's a bit lumpy between Uttoxeter and Stone.

We are no longer able to offer accommodation on Friday night in the Church Hall, instead the control will open early for all riders to have a simple self service breakfast. There is pay as you go parking at the start via the ringo app and Poynton train station is less than 2k from the start. There is a Travelodge at Adlington and camping at Elm Beds Caravan Park, both less than 3km away from the start.
