The Grindleford Goat Cycle Sportive
Event description
A wholly community led, volunteer run, friendly and inclusive cycle sportive (no corporate nonsense or prices!) with FIVE tried and tested rides. On tarmac we have The Nanny at 54km, The Billy at 100km or The Billy No Mates at 100 mile. The lovely little Kid at 22km is our family friendly, mixed terrain, adventure ride or for the serious off road 'gravelleurs', The Gruff at 65/85km will test you on White and Dark Peak trails with mix & match options, depending on your flow on the day.
We're in our 14th year and continue to max out at 400 riders. Barista coffee at registration, hot butties or oatcakes to go, our legendary feed station at Monyash plus a hot drink snack stop on the Billy and BNM routes. Come home to a delicious Hungry Buddha Nepalese curry or the best pizza in the Valley from our besties, Sunshine Pizza Oven. Grindleford's own Contour Brewery are running the beer tent and a post ride massage from Physiobase will set you up for the week ahead!
Note: our sister event, The Sir William Hill Climb takes place the Saturday evening before hosting several National champions with a new record set in 2025 by Andy Feather.
