Event description

Sustainable transport hustings for Manchester

Cycling UK is supporting a digital hustings event for candidates in the Greater Manchester mayoral elections. This is your opportunity to question the candidates about their policies for sustainable transport.

The event is being organised by a coalition of groups in Greater Manchester including WalkRide GM, Friends of the Earth, Ramblers, Living Streets, Cycling UK, Unison, Action Vision Zero and the Vision Zero Youth Council.

The coalition have produced a manifesto that sets out the 10 areas where we believe greater and more rapid change is needed for a cleaner, greener, fairer, safer way for people to get about in Greater Manchester.

Join us at these online hustings to hear what candidates have to say about the role of cycling, walking and public transport in tackling the challenges of the climate emergency and post-pandemic recovery.

Guests:

Candidates from the main four political parties have been invited to the hustings.

  • Andy Burnham - Labour and Co-operative Party
  • Laura Evans - Conservative and Unionist Party (invited)
