Cardiff Cycleway Celebration Ride
Event description
On Sunday, September 28th Cardiff Cycle City celebrating Cardiff’s most complete cycleway, Cycleway 1, riding the length of it from City Hall to the Heath hospital and back.
Progress on delivering better, safer cycleways is too slow and Cardiff Cycle City will continue to campaign hard for more rapid delivery. But they also recognise the need to celebrate success when it happens and demonstrate that when good cycling infrastructure is built and promoted, lots of people use it.
So sign up and help, celebrate, raise awareness and let politicians know that investment in good quality infrastructure is worthwhile.
The ride will be almost entirely on Cycleway 1 with just a couple of hundred metres, on St Andrews Crescent, where we might have to mix with a car or two. It won’t be a race, it will be at a leisurely pace to ensure everyone can take part, from bicycles to tag-a-longs to adaptive trikes. Please note that children under 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. To keep the cycleway clear for other riders using it, and to avoid bike jams at the traffic lights it will be riden in small groups, with a staggered departure.
To be able to plan the ride properly, Cardiff Cycle City need to know how many riders to expect, so please click the link below to register for the ride.
