The Lake District Challenge Rides are part of Cycling UK's Challenge Ride Series. This is the shorter of the two routes but is still a tough but rewarding day out on a bike, visiting the spectacular but truly challenging scenery of Cumbria.

The 100km ride is a very scenic route taking you from Mungrisdale on the edge of the Lakes to the north of Skiddaw then to Cockermouth and returning  via the notorious Whinlatter Pass, which winds its way through the Thornthwaite Forest, to a height of 1,043 feet above sea level, with views over Bassenthwaite Lake.
