Liz has been cycling for 40 years, but her retirement two years ago has allowed her to increase her distances and get involved in all sorts of different projects. Last year she completed the Way of the Roses ride, raising money for the charity CALM, Campaigning Against Living Miserably, which focuses on preventing male suicide. This year Liz is going to complete a 150-mile ride around the New Forest on 21 June, which will be a one-day personal best. This time she will be raising money for the Women’s’ Royal Naval Service Benevolent Trust. This charity supports older ladies who have served their country who may now need a little financial support. Liz is keen to work with smaller and sometimes overlooked charities.

As well as her fundraising, Liz promotes cycling to fellow older ladies, discussing with them the merits of cycling and teaching them how to cycle effectively.

Cycling UK’s 100 Women in Cycling is an annual list celebrating inspirational women who are encouraging others to take part in this wonderful and life-enhancing activity.
